I happen upon this spot in Half Moon Bay, scouting for a Client’s commissioned piece. They chose a different spot, but I ended up painting this anyway. They loved their commissioned painting, but also ended up buying the first rendition of this painting as well.

I’ve been driving pass this ranch my whole life, heading out to Drakes Beach. While painting on location, it started to rain and my painting was covered in water droplets. Foreshadowing perhaps? An hour later, a car went racing passed me, and launched into a field crashing. He walked away unscathed, and so did my painting.

As I stand here at Marshall and gaze upon the serene waters of Tomales Bay, my mind can't help but wander back to my childhood. This place holds so many memories for me, memories of a simpler time when I used to live near Tony's Seafood. It was back then that Tony's started serving their now-infamous BBQ'd oysters. The aroma of those oysters cooking on the grill would hang in the air, and it was a smell that always brought a smile to my face. Standing here, I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for those bygone days.

Inverness Rush Hour

As a kid, we’d pop wheelies and try to ride them from crosswalk to crosswalk, like the Wheelie King Parker. We’d often give tourists the wrong direction, play space invaders at the Inverness Store, and eat pizza where Saltwater now resides.
